Your Gift Can Save Lives

Non-controversial umbilical cord blood has the power to save the lives of people with many blood disorders—including leukemia and sickle cell anemia—but most cord blood is discarded.

The cord blood collection program will be the Bay Area’s first public, non-profit cord blood collection program. Unlike private cord blood banks, units banked with this program will serve anyone seeking a cord blood match.

The mission of the Joanne Pang Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, is to launch the cord blood collection program by Spring 2010.

To achieve this goal, we must raise $250,000 in 2010.

Up to 90% of those destined to die due to the shortage of matching, transplantable bone marrow could be saved  by cord blood.
